At Good and Kind, my mission as a social worker and psychotherapist is to provide empathetic and empowering social work support. I am based in Malvern, Melbourne, and work with the general public as well as NDIS participants. I understand the unique challenges faced by individuals with complex psycho-social disabilities, and I am committed to offering flexible and understanding assistance that respects their environment and circumstances, beyond what can be done in the therapy room. This might involve:Â
- Social prescribing
- A trip to Centrelink to chase up some paperwork
- A trip to Bunnings to change some locks
- Visiting the police or the magistrate’s court about an IVO
- Help with decluttering and hoarding
- Finding suitable community services
Through outreach and telehealth options, I aim to make support accessible, convenient and relevant.
Our outreach services, telehealth options, and office appointments aim to make support accessible and convenient. I prioritise the participant’s chosen goals, striving to help them enjoy life without unnecessary hurdles. I believe in empowerment through collaboration, working closely with individuals and their care teams, regardless of the scale of their support needs.
Our approach is deeply rooted in Humanist and Person-Centred principles, valuing the knowledge and experience of each individual. Drawing from personal experiences as a consumer of mental health services, I understand the importance of feeling respected and in control. People return to us because they find a supportive space where their goals are acknowledged and pursued with a genuine sense of collaboration.
I invite you to reach out and get to know me. Finding the right support is a personal journey, and I encourage individuals to explore until they find a good fit. Asking for help is a strength, a step towards making things better and embracing a life of fulfilment.
